Pexalon Insecticide (Triflumezopyrim 10% w/w SC) by Cortvea Agri Science is a mesoionic insecticide with contact and systemic activity. It is used for effective management of hopper pests in paddy and mango crops. Corteva Pexalon provides control of brown plant hopper (BPH), white backed plant hopper (WBPH) in paddy and hoppers in mango. Apply through foliar spray according to the crop and pest recommendation.

Mode of Entry: Contact and systemic action

Mode of Action: Pexalon belongs to the novel mesoionic class of insecticides.

It acts as an acetylcholine receptor (AChR) desensitiser, affecting insect nervous system function and providing effective hopper management.

Time of Application: Apply Pexalon based on careful scouting and economic threshold level (ETL) before pest populations become established. Curative applications are not advised.

• For paddy: Target application during tillering to panicle initiation stage.
• For mango: Target application during flower initiation to 50% flowering stage.

Method of Application

Foliar Spray: Apply Pexalon as a foliar spray using sufficient water volume to ensure thorough and uniform coverage of the crop canopy. Use suitable spraying equipment such as Knapsack sprayer, Power operated sprayer, Mist blower, Rocker sprayer, Foot sprayer and and Tractor mounted boom sprayer. Use properly calibrated spray equipment for uniform application. Pexalon may also be applied through Unmanned Aerial System (Drone) application in paddy as per approved guidelines.

Best Time to Spray

Do not apply when weather conditions favor drift from treated areas, particularly for Drone based sprays. Do not apply on a windy day or if heavy rain is expected within a few hours.

Storage

Additional Information

• Follow IRAC resistance management guidelines wherever applicable.
