Fiegl Villa Dugo Sauvignon Blanc

Azienda Agricola Fiegl, is located in the village Oslavia, on the gentle slopes north of Gorizia in the Collio. These vineyards have been producing wines under the Fiegl name since 1782. The original owner was named Fiegl Valentino. Currently the brothers Alessio, Giuseppe and Rinaldo are running the company, which consists of a state of the art winery and 30 hectares of land, 26 of which are planted with vineyards. The Collio Gorziano enjoys the maritime influence of the nearby Adriatic Sea, and runs along the northern hill-chain of the Gorizia province, bordering the Slovenian border. The soils are composed of marl and sandstone. Fiegl also owns significant vineyards in the Friuli Isonzo DOC, located in the southern region of the Collio and Colli Orientali. The wines from Izonzo are bottled under the name Villa Dugo. Giuseppe's son Martin is the winemaker.

After more than two centuries the brothers Alessio, Giuseppe and Rinaldo are running the company consisting of 30 hectares of land, 25 of which dedicated to vineyards. Friuli Isonzo DOC is located in south part of the Collio and Colli Orientali area and it is one of the best areas for the production of red wines but also white wines. The soil is reach in “ponca” the local name for “clay”, great for the making of red wines.
