About AGRIVENTURE FERROUS ETDA Fertilizers

  • AGRIVENTURE FERROUS EDTA (Fe-EDTA) is a chelated micronutrient compound where iron ions are bound to EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid).
  • It is most widely used in agriculture as a highly bioavailable water-soluble fertilizer to correct iron deficiencies and prevent chlorosis (leaf yellowing) in crops.

Technical Content of AGRIVENTURE FERROUS ETDA Fertilizers

  • Ferrous ETDA (Fe-EDTA)

Mode of Action

  • Prevents Nutrient Fixation: EDTA shields iron from reacting with phosphates or carbonates in the soil, which normally cause iron to become insoluble.
  • Enhances Absorption: It allows for efficient plant uptake through roots (soil application) or leaves (foliar spray) across a wide range of pH levels.
  • Metabolic Support: Once inside the plant, the chelate breaks down, releasing iron to catalyze chlorophyll formation, drive photosynthesis, and activate essential defense enzymes.

Crop & Disease/Pest Mapping

  • AGRIVENTURE FERROUS EDTA (Fe-EDTA)  is beneficial for all crops, but it is highly recommended for those highly susceptible to iron deficiency:
  • Fruits: Citrus, apples, grapes, bananas, and pomegranates.
  • Vegetables: Spinach, tomatoes, chili, onions, and beans.
  • Field Crops: Rice, sugarcane, cotton, and soybeans.
  • Ornamentals: Roses, azaleas, and various flower species.

Dosage per Acre

  • 1.5gm-1.7gm/liter

Key Features & Benefits

  • Plant Nutrition: Fe-EDTA typically contains 12% elemental iron and ensures the iron remains stable and available to plant roots. It protects iron from reacting with other soil elements that would otherwise make it insoluble.
  • Application Methods: It can be dissolved completely in water and used as a foliar spray or applied directly to the soil and drip irrigation systems.
  • Effectiveness: It is highly effective in soils with a pH ranging from 4 to 8

Additional Information

  • Soil Conditions & Limitations:
  • Ideal Soil pH: Highly effective in acidic to neutral soils (pH up to 6.5 – 7.0).
  • Limitations: In highly alkaline or calcareous soils (pH above 7.0), the iron in Fe-EDTA can precipitate and become unavailable. For soils with a pH \(>7.0\), Fe-EDDHA is recommended instead.
